Office waste walk 3 – maxing the process
Emily, Michael, Sarah, John – discussion series
The team gathers in the conference room, ready to discuss their latest initiatives in continuous improvement.
John: Alright team, let’s start our discussion by reflecting on our recent waste walk. We identified numerous areas for improvement, but now it’s time to talk about the actions we’ve taken since then.
Emily: Agreed, John. One of the key steps we’ve taken is leveraging the Standard Builder in our continuous improvement Platform to create single point lessons (SPLs) that outline best practices and standardised procedures.
Michael: Absolutely. These SPLs serve as practical guides for our team members, providing them with clear instructions on how to perform tasks efficiently and effectively, what’s more they were fun to build, I even managed to create some on my iPhone!
Sarah: And what’s really great is that we’ve associated these SPLs with specific team skills within our platform. This ensures that everyone has access to the relevant information they need to be successful in their roles.
John: That’s right, Sarah. And let’s not forget about our sensei trainers. We’ve appointed trainers for each skill area within our organisation, who uphold the SPLs and serve as subject matter experts for their respective skills.
Emily: It’s been incredibly beneficial to have dedicated trainers guiding our team members and driving continuous improvement efforts within their areas of expertise.
Michael: Agreed. These sensei trainers play a crucial role in facilitating training sessions, providing guidance, and fostering a culture of learning.
Sarah: And by respectfully referring to them as sensei, we’re acknowledging their expertise and leadership in their respective skill areas.
John: Overall, I’m proud of the progress we’ve made since our waste walk. By integrating the Standard Builder and sensei training into our continuous improvement framework, we’ve created a culture of continuous improvement that empowers our team members to excel and thrive.
Emily: Absolutely. And as we continue to refine our processes and drive further innovation, I’m confident that we’ll achieve even greater success in the future.
Michael: Well said, Emily. Let’s keep up the momentum and continue striving for excellence in all that we do.
The team nods in agreement, energised and motivated to continue their journey of continuous improvement.
