Measures

Daily Measures

“If you don’t measure, then how do you know how you are doing?” Pete Drucker.

Use Measures to understand and assess where you are, and perhaps where you need to be, as there can be no quantified improvement if you can’t measure the impact.

Think in terms of two types of daily measures:

  1. Metrics, which capture a score and compare this to a target that is set.
  2. Habit, which is simply “did we or did we not achieve”

Measure IT

And for everything else, we need to Measure IT.

For many of us who have become accomplished in all things Excel, we assume (quite incorrectly) that Excel is easy, and you just do this, that or the other whilst other colleagues struggle to understand the process, there is nothing wrong in a simple manual chart, that when updated allows a reflection on previous data as we complete the next point of achievement
